The Satanist Review
The Satanist is Behemoth's 10th studio album, and the first released in 5 years after front man Nergal was diagnosed with leukemia. The blackened death metal album reflects the band's sound by opening with an evil, heavy riff, a great bass tone and of course fast drumming. "The Satanist" track is a stand out, reminding me of "Lucifer" on the album Evangelion. "Messe Noire" finishes with a slower and amazing guitar solo and another stand out is "O Father O Satan O Sun". Below you can watch the opening track, "Blow your Trumpets, Gabriel" and hear for yourself how Behemoth have not disappointed with this release. For anyone who will listen I urge you to buy this album. Since it's release it has been number 1 in several top metal album lists, even reaching the mainstream billboards. It is definitely a favorite of 2014, even competing with the likes of Carcass's "Surgical Steel".
