Jess Mauboy dazzles at Eurovision

Aussie singer Jess Mauboy has made history by becoming the first non-European to perform at the Eurovision Song Contest. Mauboy performed in the second semi-final interval with her song 'Sea of Flags'. The song was written with Ilan Kidron from The Potbelleez specifically for the contest which what watched by over 180 million people around the globe. Mauboy dazzled the audience with her performance that included a segment that showed off the Sydney Opera House, AFL, the Big Pineapple and even featured an astronaut bearing the Australian and Aboriginal flag.



This years Eurovision was full of breaking records with winner, Conchita Wurst from Austria, becoming the first drag queen to win the song contest. Conchita, dubbed 'the bearded lady' won the contest with the performance of her song 'Rise Like a Phoenix'. The song has already made it into the top 10 on the iTunes charts in Germany, Italy, France, Denmark and Sweden.  Jess and Conchita have also been reported to have struck up a friendship after the two singers were snapped chilling out together backstage at the competition.
